  1. Arrange all the ingredients neatly in a large, wide pot: Spam slices on one side, sausage slices, kimchi, tofu slices, and rice cakes each in their own section. This is the traditional presentation.
  2. Make the sauce: mix gochugaru, gochujang, minced garlic, and sugar in a small bowl. Spoon it over the arranged ingredients in the pot.
  3. Pour 4 cups of water (or anchovy stock) into the pot. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Add the ramen noodles on top. Cook for 3-4 more minutes until noodles are soft. Scatter green onion on top. Serve directly from the pot at the table.
